It's been a rough past few days for music lovers in Chicago. Heavy Hitter DJ Tim “Dj Timbuck2” Jones, 34, died due to complications of cancer. Since the age of 15, DJ Timbuck2 has been a staple on the Chicago scene.
Introduced to the art of DJ’ing and mentored by Grammy-nominated producer The Twilite Tone, "Tim" was known for holding down his daily “drive time” mix on 107.5 WGCI during the 5 o’clock hour. As well as his weekely "Timbuck2sdays" party at Beauty Bar in Chicago.
He is known for supporting local artists and giving them their first on-air appearances. He also showed a lot of love to music blogs like FakeShoreDrive, Ruby Hornet and Closed Sessions, who gave new artists a platform.
Chicago cultural iconic platform Fakeshore Drive dropped an unreleased Mix by Timbuck2 on their site this week.
