About Our Clean Energy Campaigns
The purpose of our Clean Energy Campaigns is to raise awareness within low-communities of color about the particular impacts of climate change on their communities. Through media, celebrity messengers, grassroots networks, and online engagement, our campaigns will educate and provide tools and resources for low-income communities of color to contribute to climate change solutions, access economic opportunity in the Green Economy, and live healthier, greener lives.

Green the City: The “Green the City” initiative targets three primary areas: city conversion to clean energy vehicles, green-collar job creation and training, and the expansion of biomass energy production. The National Conference of Black Mayor’s (NCBM) launched “Green the City” and invited the Hip Hop Caucus to be a partner. NCBM Mayors, in partnership with the Hip Hop Caucus, are aggressively moving to organize their communities to fully participate in the Green The City initiative.
