A Voting Tool for Returning Citizens

Returning citizens are people who have a felony or misdemeanor record and have served time in prison. One of the biggest voting myths out there is that if returning citizens have a felony on their record, they have lost their right to vote forever. This simply isn’t true. Hip Hop Caucus has created a tool that helps returning citizens find out if they’re able to vote.

A Simple Way for Returning Citizens to Register To Vote

Are you a returning citizen? Find out if you can vote now!

Although each state has slightly different laws, in most cases if you have a felony record, you can vote. You may be able to vote while on probation or parole. And in a few places you can vote while in prison. If you are in jail for a misdemeanor, in most cases you can vote from jail.

Using this tool is completely anonymous. We do not store any data on people who use this tool. If you are eligible to vote, the tool will provide a link to our Respect My Vote website. You can register to vote there as soon as you determine your eligibility.
