Thank you for agreeing to participate in our video series commemorating the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Through this series, Hip Hop Caucus aims to connect how “climate rules everything around me,” and center stories around our advocacy to achieve liberation and justice for New Orleanians and other Black and Brown communities across the Gulf. This video series includes six segments to discuss Hurricane Katrina through the lens of:

  1. Culture, art, and adversity from 2005 to the present
  2. Mental health impacts
  3. Sea level rise and intensifying ‘natural’ disasters
  4. The real cost of Cancer Alley on Gulf residents
  5. A deeper dive on the economic and infrastructure (or lack thereof) impacts
  6. Lessons learned and our vision for the next 20 years

The series is scheduled to launch in late June and run through early August. You will receive promotional materials to help share the series with your family and friends.
