Hip Hop Caucus hosted a groundbreaking virtual event that bridged Black banking history with today’s urgent fight for climate, racial, and economic justice.
The virtual panel discussion featured renowned authors Dr. Shennette Garrett-Scott and Dr. Brandon Winford, alongside Kenya Tyson, Executive Director of the Black Massacre Project. The event explored the stories of Black financial pioneers and how they laid the foundation for the Bank Black & Green campaign to build on.
Attendees gained insights into modern MDI/CDFI challenges, explored innovative campaigning strategies, and engaged in a critical dialogue on reinvestment into our communities. Rewatch the event to obtain actionable tools and strategies to help build a new financial system that works for everyone and not just the well connected.
