WASHINGTON, D.C. — September 11, 2025 — Hip Hop Caucus today announced a week of national mobilization for democracy, including Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, and National Black Voter Registration Day on Friday, September 19, 2025. Across the country—and with a focused push in North Carolina, Georgia, and Texas—Hip Hop Caucus will host digital activations to help people check their voter registration status, re-register if necessary, and protect their vote in the face of ongoing voter-roll purges.

As part of this effort, Hip Hop Caucus is directing the public to Hip Hop Caucus’ Returning Citizen tool, a long-standing and still-active resource that helps people with past convictions understand their voting rights and get registered where eligible. The organization has been a leader in building and deploying this tool to remove confusion and barriers for returning citizens.

“Our message is simple: if you’re eligible, you deserve to be registered—and to stay registered,” said Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr., President & CEO of Hip Hop Caucus. “This September, we’re fighting the purge of our people from the rolls, to make sure returning citizens know their rights, and to move our communities from powerlessness to the polls.”
