LOS ANGELES, CA — October 27, 2026 — Hip Hop Caucus today announced the launch of a three-city Respect My Vote! billboard campaign featuring La La Anthony, Dear Silas and YelloPain. Appearing in Atlanta, Dallas and Detroit, the campaign brings the power of culture and community to the streets as part of Respect My Vote!’s 18th anniversary and its nonpartisan get-out-the-vote efforts for the midterm elections.
Made possible through an in-kind sponsorship from Orange Barrel Media, the billboard campaign meets people where they live, work and move through their communities with a reminder that their voices matter and their votes count.
“Respect My Vote! has spent 18 years connecting culture and civic engagement because we know that our communities have the power to shape the decisions that affect our lives,” said Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr., President and CEO of Hip Hop Caucus. “From the cost of living to the air we breathe and the water we drink, the issues on the ballot are connected to our everyday experiences. We’re proud to join La La Anthony, Dear Silas, YelloPain and Orange Barrel Media to encourage our communities to make a plan and make their voices heard.”
Launched in 2008, Respect My Vote! is Hip Hop Caucus’ nonpartisan voter engagement campaign that uses the power of hip hop and culture to connect communities—particularly young people and people of color—with the information and tools they need to participate in the democratic process. As the campaign marks its 18th anniversary, it continues to encourage eligible voters to check their registration, learn what’s on their ballot and make a plan to vote.
“When I was approached by the Hip Hop Caucus to participate in the Respect My Vote Campaign, the alignment was immediately clear. This midterm election cycle is pivotal to pushing our society forward,” said Lala Anthony, Advocate, Actress, and founder of the La La Land Foundation. “With our work through the ThreeSixty Program at Rikers, my commitment to the rehabilitation and re-entry of our youth is contingent upon local and federal policymakers. Respect My Vote is an aligned initiative with a proven history of supporting and shaping the electoral rights of our future generations; therefore, it is a cause that I fully stand behind.”
“You can’t complain about the direction we’re going if you refuse to help steer. GO VOTE. Your future is worth showing up for. Sitting it out ain’t the flex you think it is,” said rapper and viral creator Dear Silas
“Most people are not against voting, there just never had anyone break it down in a way that made sense for their life,” said YelloPain, Rapper and Motivational Speaker. “My job is to make it plain, because once people see how it touches them directly, they move.”
The billboard campaign is part of Hip Hop Caucus’ broader Respect My Vote! voter engagement efforts, which include biweekly national organizing calls that bring together community members, partners and advocates to support nonpartisan voter education and mobilization. Throughout its history, Respect My Vote! has activated hip hop artists and entertainers—including Vic Mensa, Keke Palmer and Keyshia Cole—to encourage civic participation, particularly among young people and communities of color.
In New Orleans, Hip Hop Caucus recently teamed up with Sess 4-5 for get-out-the-vote activations at Bounce Fest, Fairgrounds Triangle Neighborhood Association Night Out Against Crime and “Roll to the Polls Early,” an on-wheels event that brought early voters together on bike, skateboard, scooter and roller-skates to the polls to avoid Election Day lines.
“At Orange Barrel Media, we believe our network should serve the communities they’re in,” said Currecia Gamble, Senior Director of Community Engagement at Orange Barrel Media. “We’re proud to partner with Hip Hop Caucus to bring “Respect My Vote!” to the streets of Atlanta, Dallas and Detroit, putting the information people need to participate in our democracy right where they live, work and gather.”
Through its in-kind sponsorship, Orange Barrel Media is supporting the campaign by providing outdoor advertising space to help amplify these messages. Voters can visit www.RespectMyVote.com to check their registration, find election information and make a plan to vote. Voting rules and deadlines vary by state, so voters are encouraged to check the requirements and information for their community.

ThreeSixty program is an initiative at Rikers Island, providing mentorship and life coaching, legal services, and re-entry tools, to young men ages 18–21 years old who are incarcerated, specifically in the Robert N. Davoren (RNDC) Complex. Weekly interactions and meetings focus on life-building skills that are helpful during their time incarcerated and instrumental to re-entry into the community upon release. The team works to develop one-on-one connections with each of the young men, building trust, and solid relationships among the group and with each other individually.
