What has occurred in the Tennessee House of Representatives represents an unprecedented attack on Democracy. This was made possible by hyper partisan racial gerrymandering across the state of Tennessee. Our community should understand the intersections between what has happened in the Tennessee legislature to any other issue you care about. Without state representation, voters in these districts do not have a voice in their own democracy. Hip Hop Caucus President and CEO Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Jr. sat down with Former Tennessee State Representative Justin J. Pearson and Attorney Ben Crump to discuss why it’s critical to support State Rep. Pearson’s reappointment to the state legislature.
