In 2023, the Hip Hop Caucus put artivism in action to stay ten toes down for people and the planet. We continued our fight for climate, racial and economic justice.
Our mission is to WIN. Win on climate. Win on economic justice. Win on liberating our communities. But our success isn’t just measured in headlines – we’ve also been in the streets and the suites. Thanks to your support, we reached 1.7 million actions taken by our supporters this year. From organizing against the petrochemical industry, to demanding that Cop City in Atlanta never be built, Hip Hop Caucus has been on the frontlines fighting for environmental justice.
We welcomed 40,000 new activists to the Caucus family and celebrated pioneers, influencers, and artivists who are committed to achieving justice for Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities. By raising awareness through culture and activism, we have the power to end deaths in custody, protect the vote for returning citizens, and fight for clean air and clean water. Our team leveled up in 2023, mobilizing people across the world. Your support has made all of this possible.
2023 also marked the 50th anniversary of hip hop, and we celebrated all year long, uplifting voices from across the culture, holding ourselves accountable, and reimagining the next 50 years when more of us have access to the mic.
