For nearly 20 years, Hip Hop Caucus has been fighting for racial, climate, and economic justice through artivism. We turn C.R.E.A.M. (Climate Rules Everything Around Me) into the sauce that brings climate solutions H.O.M.E. (Heal Our Mother Earth). Our latest recipe is Bank Black and Green. The goal of Hip Hop Caucus’s Bank Black and Green campaign is to strengthen the economic power of frontline communities of color and reduce economic disparities, while disempowering systems of overpolicing and pollution.
On Thursday, March 21, 2024, we launched the campaign with a reception featuring live entertainment, a conversation with Aaron Craig Mitchell and ReShonda Young, and networking opportunities.
About Bank Black and Green
Bank Black and Green is a campaign led by Hip Hop Caucus’ economic justice platform ‘Justice Paid in Full.’ It’s a multi-year campaign encouraging Black-owned banks to commit against funding the fossil fuel industry and mass incarceration and deploy capital to frontline communities of color. To increase resources for frontline communities of color, Bank Black and Green also encourages value-based impact investors to shift financial capital to Black-owned banks.
