On the 29th annual National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality, Hip Hop Caucus is hosting STOP COP NATION. This is a discussion and call to action to raise awareness of cop cities across America, demand accountability, and present solutions that will bring us closer to stopping the construction of these facilities.
What is COP CITY?
At $90M, Atlanta’s planned ‘Cop City’ is expected to become one of the largest police training centers in the United States. The influx of these facilities parallels the emergence of the Defund the Police movement, which—following the murder of George Floyd in 2020—saw thousands of people across the country mobilize to decry police violence against Black and Brown communities.
This virtual event will feature speakers and opportunities to connect with others who are passionate about ending police violence.
