Hip Hop Caucus Applauds Historic Confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for Supreme Court

WASHINGTON — Today, Hip Hop Caucus President and CEO Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr. issued the following statement in response to Congress’ confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States:

“Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation to the United States Supreme Court is historic, affirming, and undoubtedly deserved. Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is the definition of Black excellence and brings unparalleled experience to a Court that has been majority white throughout our history. Following Black women’s leadership is what we need to do for our nation and representation on America’s highest court is long overdue. We celebrate this barrier-breaking moment for how her expert leadership will shape our country, and also for how it will enliven possibilities in the dreams of young girls everywhere. We look forward to Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s service on the United States Supreme Court as we continue to strive for a country that is more equitable, free, and fair for all.”
